Reverie II Carlo Binotti
|
It was autumn and, as we always did when we were in Linhares, we would walk to Germil where we had a small house in ruins, a small backyard where the caretaker planted vegetables, a small orchard and a few vines. António, the caretaker, had his own cows, two, and the smell of manure was intense.
Just next to the small house we think to rebuild soon, there was an old handmade wicker granary. When it was full of corncobs and it was sunny, the lid would be a bit open and it seemed to smile.
We were walking hand in hand, and apparently aimlessly. Apparently…
At the back, almost at the brook, there was a small barn, the shed of the agricultural tools, some old furniture that we brought from the city, two ruined bikes from the kids, a few empty cans and little else. At the back, there was a kind of counter that we accessed with a moving stairway, unstable, a little rotten by the inexorability of time.
That afternoon, as always, we carefully climbed the ladder and, upstairs, on the straw that carpeted the counter, we laid down next to each other in silence. Through the cracks ran an aggressive but good wind.
|
I remember your long print skirt, very large and the absolute nakedness it hid.
We committed ourselves to each other in lust and the sweet silence was only broken by the groans we could not restrain.
Much later, we fell asleep embraced, exhausted but at peace. I recall your smile and that twinkle in your eyes - it fascinated me so much - you always have before you surrender to fatigue.
Doooooctor, dooooooctor…
We woke up breathless and dressed quickly. It was the caretaker. I remember glancing at you and look at your naked and beautiful body, marked by the aggressive straw. I also remember your rosy cheeks.
We greeted António, spoke of the weather and crops, of his wife the good Rose, their children and little else.
When we left hand in hand, your print skirt was fluttering in the wind ...
I didn’t look back, but I knew that António was smiling!

Devaneio II Carlo Binotti
|
|

It's here, eternity in every direction
From galaxy’s to atoms at this intersection
Looking for substance with limited perspective
Like the opposing poles of a magnet that are interconnected.
Each week I stop and mindfully think,
Of the kind people who come here to speak’ and
say what going on inside their minds.
To help each of us with the truth that they find.
So Thanks to all who help us on our way,
And the rest of the kind people that came here today.

MASTERS
When I was young and looked at the painting of Rembrandt’s the Sea of Galilee it almost brought me to tears. To stand in the same space he did when he painted seemed to break through and touch the spirit of the man’s sight and mind. Whenever I’m at a museum, a few steps from a master’s work, Gauguin, Dali or Ruben it inspires me to stand there for hours and look. To be part of the art, so many find the beauty in. The work masters show us is a moment in time, we can stop and visit, this to me brings the trueness of art to be complete.

Some.
Someone will die today.
Someone will give everything away.
Someone will break someone’s heart.
Something terrible will tear a family apart.
Someone will come to resolve.
Someone will have the greatest problem they ever faced solved.
Someone will let anger fade and realize there’s a better way.
Somewhere there will be a wild thunder storm and some place a perfect child will be born.

Change the world.
A pen stroke that could change the world, a group of words when read rip the skin from our bones, leaving a bare spirit, naked yet connected to the womb, where the seed of life was sown.
|
FORGET
Turn and forget everything you know.
The real and the wise, the truth and the lies.
What Mom and Dad said, was a life that was compromised.
And drugs and alcohol helped them utilized.
Don’t take it personal it’s a story from my own side.
For each of us has their own hill to climb and mind to unwind.

|
|
The light we were before this,
the spark of lust or the passion of a lover’s kiss.
A trillion complications that came together to create this,
gifted with a mind that could change the world of suffering to bliss.

LOVE.
My love doesn’t need to be a star, a ten or send me to the moon or shoot me to mars.
My love doesn’t need to understand hidden secrets, prove myself or be a spiritual witness.
My love doesn’t need, and is delightfully unencumbered and free.

|
Arrows
The suffering makes us tough, leather covered we can take so much.
Ridiculed since we were young, is what hardened us and creates what we become. This turns to learn to use a jujutsu move.
The arrows of persecution turn into gratitude as the aggression fade others try to force on you. As the arrows fall to your feet with a kind mindful move.

Life is moving in circles

Your bed in the centre of the living room
Waiting for what’s coming up soon
Life changes into death
Beautiful how you did it like that
Last hours of a lifetime
Last hours of a lifetime
When everything is said
In a pure moment of life and death
When everything is said
In a pure moment of Love and Death
Life is moving in circles
Each day new miracles
Life is moving in circles
Each day new miracles
The sun that goes down
is also the rising sun
The sun that goes down
is also the rising sun
Last hours of a lifetime
First hours of a lifetime
|
|
The bed in the centre of our living room
Excitement is thrilling, you’re coming soon
You had to wait a little moment
Your birth was a supreme event
First hours of a lifetime
First hours of a lifetime
When I heard your first sigh
The breath you take the cry you make
In that moment of love and life
It gave you the strength of your powerful life
Life is moving in circles
Each day new miracles
Life is moving in circles
Each day new miracles
The sun that goes down
is also the rising sun
The sun that goes down
is also the rising sun
Last hours of a lifetime First hours of a lifetime
Last hours of a lifetime First hours of a lifetime

I’ll find you here
|
|
An old religion told me to go
To climb the highest hills
So I left you all down below
Looked out over rivers and woods
You’re so restless all the way
On this dark and misty winter day
Thank God I feel this clear sky
And ‘ll find you here too
What did you say, I can’t remember
It doesn’t matter anymore
All things we have said and done
We had to go through somehow
You’re so restless all the way
On this dark and misty winter day
Thank God I feel the clear sky
And ‘ll find you here too

De Boodschappers
Over het natte, bruine landschap
Door de bossen en grote steden
Langs de grote stromen
In de blauwe nachten
Over de oudste bospaden
Verhalen in bijna onleesbaar schrift

The Messengers
Over the old Brown Hills
In the Cities of the world
Along the wild, wild rivers
Stories of the messengers
People walk around the earth
Very old folks and the young
Wise men with bright eyes
Stories of the messengers
The land is covered with snow
In the holy woods of the world
Trough the gates of all small-towns
Stories of the messengers
People walk around the earth
Very old folks, and the young
Wise men with bright eyes
Stories of the messengers
When we can see
Find the golden balance
Be open for lost memories
Stories of the messengers
People walk around the earth
Very old folks, and the young
Wise men with bright eyes
Stories of the messengers
In the silent blue night
In the great cold desert
Stories of the messengers
Stories of the messengers

António Carlos Grave Couvinha
Évora 1951.
Quase sempre a figuração, raramente a abstracção.

Ricardo Pacheco
Nothing is stable or fixed, unless stuck in cycles and lost. Reality is in permanent transformation. Thoughts, feelings, relations and concepts flow untamed … nothing can truly reflect the mind, not entirely ... but we'll keep trying, in our secret organic language, to make sense of the world.
Ricardo Pacheco, Painter/Illustrator, graduated in Painting by the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon University, Portugal.
